What is Bill Pay?

Bill Pay is a secure service through Online Banking that allows you to manage your bills online. You can pay virtually anyone at anytime from anywhere in the United States using your State Bank of Belle Plaine checking account at your convenience.

How do I access Bill Pay?

You will access Bill Pay through your Online Banking account. It is a separate tab.

How do I sign up for Bill Pay?

You can sign up for Bill Pay by choosing “Account Setup” under the “Bill Pay” tab.

Do I need to sign up for Online Banking in order to have access to Bill Pay?

Yes. You access Bill Pay through your Online Banking account.

Will I need a separate password to access Bill Pay?

No. Access is allowed through your Online Banking account.

How do I create a payee in Bill Pay?

You can create a Bill Pay Payee by choosing “Payee List” under the “Bill Pay” tab.

How do I schedule Payments?

You can schedule payments by choosing “Payee List” under the “Bill Pay” tab and then choosing “Add Payments”

Can I set up a payment from a Savings Account?

Bill Pay is only available to set up payments from a Checking Account.

Is there a charge for Bill Pay?

There is no charge for active Bill Pay users. If your Bill Pay account is inactive (zero transactions) for 90 days, then your Bill Pay Service will be deactivated. 

Is my Bill Pay information secure?

State Bank of Belle Plaine strives to use the latest technology to protect your account information from exposure to unauthorized persons. As is the case with everything traveling through the Internet, security is always an issue.

When will the amount of the payment be deducted from my account?

Your payment amount will be deducted on the “Payment Date” entered for the payment. If the “Payment Date” falls on a weekend, the payment will be deducted on the Friday before. Your payment account will be verified for sufficient funds the day before the “Payment Date”.

How will I know if the payment will be sent electronic (by ACH) or paper (by check)?

The payment type is listed on the “Payee List” screen under the “Bill Pay” tab for each payee.

How many months are available under Bill Pay History?

Bill Pay History is available for 24 months.

What are my hardware and software requirements?

All you need is a computer and Internet access. To access Online Banking, you’ll need a web browser (Mozilla 3.0, Chrome 4.0 or Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher), a user ID, and a PIN number.

What if I change my email address?

You can change your email address for Online Banking by clicking on the “Options” tab and then “Account Info” and then under “Email Address”. You can change your Bill Pay email address by clicking on the “Bill Pay” tab and “Account Setup”. You will need to change both addresses, they are independent of each other.

How do I cancel Bill Pay?

You should contact Data Processing at 952-873-2296 between 8:00 AM and 4:15 PM CST Monday – Friday, banking business days or send a secure message through Online Banking.
